What Girls Need

When the school term begins, students must bring many supplies. The girls' families or villages can often supply many items, and Power of Education Africa provides the rest. It is impractical to send the actual items from Canada to Kenya due to high transportation costs, so they are purchased locally with the money our supporters donate. Purchasing items locally also has the added benefit of allowing us to support local vendors and the Kenyan economy.

We also cover the mandatory medical exam fees for every student, as well as providing them with a small amount of discretionary money.
